ANUBIS eBook T O BOLSEEN Reviews

I loved this book, it was very smartly written. I have to agree with some of the other comments, the Love Story even though cool, got too ridiculous at times, it was too much; its not like the kind of love (childish by the way)would transform the lives of the Isisians, their very own love stories where better and more significant, but in any case, I loved the book and recommend it to everybody.

I would love to see it in a movie.

Thanks a lot Bolseen (if you are still around Earth to read this comment )
Personally that is all I ask of a good fiction book, that it be interesting and entertaining. Anu-bis fits this bill. It held my interest and kept me looking forward to reading more. If there is a follow up I'll definitely be interested in reading it. Very good job.
As sci-fi goes, the story line was a good one...IF the author had stuck to sci-fi vs. 'sweetie' this and 'sweetie' that. Seriously, I was beginning to think I was developing diabetes reading the book.

Lots of typos. LOTS of unnecessary use of hyphens and lack of hyphens where called for, in addition to excessive use of other forms of punctuation.

Lots of repetition and lengthy (very lengthy) descriptions. Found myself zoning out. Almost didn't finish the book and when I did, it was extremely disappointing. Gave the appearance that the author was tired of his own book and dashed off to finish it.

Take out the bulk of the love sick puppies, fix the errors, and focus on the real story of first contact and this has the potential to be a far better book.

Note of appreciation to the author Thank you for not going into explicit sexual scenes. The mere suggestion of what was to transpire was very well handled.
When I read the book description I was hooked. Any fan of science fiction would love the thought of a six mile long space ship of a very advanced race making first contact with Earth. The science fiction parts of this book are very good and deserve a 5 rating.

The romance portion of the book I give a 2 rating. Near the end of the book I was beginning to think I might throw up if I read "sweetie" again. There are way too many instances of being told how much our leads love each other. And the slang the lovers use is downright silly. For that matter there are also too many references to how the aliens like to laugh and party and like earth music. Every few pages you are reading "We like to laugh and party." If some of the overblown parts had been eliminated, the book would have lost 200 useless pages and been much more readable.

Despite my criticisms, I found the book readable and recommend it for those who think they can tolerate the excesses. Near the end of the book, you learn to skip over some passages. Now that you have been warned you can just skip over the "sweetie" and "party" parts after the first dozen or so instances.

I will look for other work by the author.
First I'll begin with the use of the word "sweetie" to the point of ad nauseum. I never realized I could learn to hate a word so much until I read this book. It got to the point where my wife called me sweetie at one point as she walked by and it made me cringe. Completely overdone. The love store between main characters was annoying beyond belief and lacked depth.

I have read books where a lot of bad things happen to the main characters and the bad guy gets away with bad things. These stories always made me angry and wish that someone would write a story where everything went right for the good guys and nothing bad ever happened to them. After reading this book I realize now I was so wrong. NOTHING bad ever really happens to the main characters. At least nothing lasting. There really arent any bad guys in this book. The visitors are invincible and religious and millions of year more advanced than Earth.

Here's where I kinda contradict myself. I really enjoyed reading this book and would like for there to be a part 2. However, I really really really recommend cutting the use of the word "sweetie" to maybe 20% of the time instead of 90%. Or dont use it at all. Second, get some bad guys in there that challenge the visitors and maybe have some characters die and stay dead.

I wont recommend this book only because you have to make the decision for yourself. These are my opinions. Make up your own mind.
This book kept my interest from beginning to end. It had plenty of adventure, great first contact, and good romance all rolled into one. I would like to see a lot more from this author in the future.
What a wonderful first contact book, and one that departs from the usual ideas. The political chaos that develops after knowledge of Anu-bis's arrival was all to real. The description of the advanced technologies were nicely balanced by the story line and left me wanting more detailed technical information. The idea of "back-up" copies and personal protection against attack, both from within and without, were thought provoking. My only regret is that there is no second book to read, and I am left wanting more of the ANU-BIS and Isisian adventures story.
